Jim Byrnes and Babe Gurr kick off the 2014 Aaargon Music on the Grill Series with a concert at the Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam) on July 4 and 5. The venue and bar open at 6:30 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m., and the show at 8 p.m.

Local folk-roots singer Gurr and blues rocker Byrnes are the first of three presentations at the sixth annual Music on the Grill series. The evening starts off with a gourmet dinner on the patio overlooking Lafarge Lake, followed by top-notch musical acts in the Studio Theatre.

Tickets are $52 for the dinner and concert and $32 for the concert only. Tickets can be purchased online in advance or by calling the box office at 604-927-6555.
