Frenchmen in high heels dance into Britain's Got Talent finals

While walking in high heels can be a challenge for some, these guys make it look easy. And it's not just walking that they're doing.

France's Yanis Marshall, Arnaud, and Mehdi danced up a storm on Britain's Got Talent, and wowed them so much, they went through to the finals.

The trend of men dancing in high heels surged in international gay culture after Ukraine's all-male electro popsters Kazaky strutted their stuff in their music videos (and who also appeared as background dancers in Madonna's video "Girl Gone Wild").

Dancing in stiletto heels became their signature look.

The Frenchmen trio of Yanis, Arnaud, and Mehdi (a non-vocal dance group) smartly chose Spice Girls to dance to for their first performance.

Not only did the British audience lap it up, but they also won over notoriously the hard-to-please Simon Cowell.  

For the semi-final, the trio performed their most chic, and most voguing-influenced, routine to a mix of Donna Summer's "Bad Girls", RuPaul, Scissor Sisters' "Let's Have a Kiki", and more.

(My only minor reservation is that Tina Turner's "Proud Mary" doesn't quite fit into the style/fashion theme. But it's all so very polished anyhow it hardly matters.)

Their final performance pays tribute to the Queen B herself. "Ring the Alarm", "Crazy in Love", and "Naughty Girl" are all in the mix to prove who run the world: men in high heels!

The excessive lighting and costumes for that performance didn't necessarily show off the dance moves to their best advantage.

Alas and alack, they didn't win.

But will these men dancing in high heels take the world by storm?

Boys, those heels weren't made for dancing, but that's just what they'll do.
