The Georgia Straight presents Art Bergmann at the Commodore

Live Nation has announced that Canadian punk-rock icon Art Bergmann will play a show at the Commodore Ballroom on Saturday, September 6, in support of his upcoming EP Slogans for the Underclass.

"I just want to put a pinprick in the great facade of consumer capitalism and let the air out of it where I can," says Bergmann of his new songs. "Sustainable growth, an oxymoron. The Conservative party, conserving nothing. The targets are endless, aren’t they?

"Before you think this is a dreary litany of protest songs, think again. These songs are puzzles with obscure political, historical and of course, economic references."

Tickets for the 19+ show are priced at $20 (plus service charges and fees) and go on sale Friday, July 11, at 10 a.m. on the Live Nation website.

Tickets will also be available for purchase by phone at 1-888-222-6608 and at Red Cat Records.
