Paul McCartney's setlists in 2012 and 2016: which Vancouver show ruled?

    1 of 2 2 of 2

      I'm pretty damn spoiled.

Not only did I get to see Paul McCartney play Vancouver in 2012--his first local gig since the Beatles whipped through town in '64--but I also managed to take him in last night, at the second show of his doubleheader.

So which gig was better, you ask?

Well, to avoid pissing off all the Macca freaks who packed Rogers Arena the last couple of nights and can't comprehend how a concert could get any better--or the 40,000 who crammed into B.C. Place four years ago and are thinking the same thing--I'm not even gonna pick a winner.

And I'm not gonna get into stuff like how McCartney's vocals were better four years ago because, hey, it was four years ago.

All I'm going to do is list which Beatles classics from the 2012 setlist McCartney didn't play last night, and which ones from last night's setlist he didn't play back in 2012. You can decide for yourself.

      Ready?

Okay, so here's the Beatles tunes he played last night that weren't on the setlist back in 2012:

      "A Hard Day's Night"

      "Can't Buy Me Love"

      "Here, There and Everywhere"

      "We Can Work It Out"

      "You Won't See Me"

      "Love Me Do"

"Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite"

      "I Saw Her Standing There"

Now, here's the Beatles tunes from his 2012 show that weren't on the setlist last night:

      "Magical Mystery Tour"

      "All My Loving"

      "Drive My Car"

      "The Night Before"

      "Paperback Writer"

      "The Long and Winding Road"

      "I've Just Seen a Face"

      "Day Tripper"

      "Get Back"

      "Helter Skelter"

      "A Day in the Life"

Okay, so maybe I lied about not picking a winner.
