From May 5 to 15, the DOXA Documentary Film Festival touches down at various Vancouver venues.

Known for showcasing thought-provoking documentaries from around the world, this edition of the festival will present films that take a leap of faith in the quest for justice, peace, freedom, and glory.

This year, though, the spotlight is on Borders and Boundaries, a film program that examines the ongoing negotiation between these physical and conceptual divisions.

Highlighted films include Aim for the Roses (pictured above), Migrant Dreams, Lampedusa in Winter, How to Build a Time Machine, The Babushkas of Chernobyl, Roshmia, Flow Mechanics, The Ballad of Oppenheimer Park, Kivalina, and The Crossing.

Participating venues include the Vancity Theatre, the Cinematheque, the Vancouver Playhouse, the SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts, and the Museum of Vancouver.

You can keep in touch with the DOXA Documentary Film Festival through Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Tickets for the DOXA Documentary Film Festival start at $11 and are available online or by calling 604-646-3200.
