      The C.K. Choi Building hosts a conference that examines the recent urbanization experience of India and lessons for the future.

      The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada presents an interdisciplinary arts and cultural showcase featuring Rup Sidhu, Shazia Hafiz Ramji, and Jason Sunder. Held at Floor 9 Salon.

      DANCE

      Celebrate International Dance Day with Ukrainian and Scottish dancing, contemporary dance works, and hip-hop dancing at various Vancouver venues.

      SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts hosts a movement-based dance mosaic featuring Anna Dueck, Melissa Panetta, Betty Meng, Alisa Vink, Madeline de Shield, Larissa Duff-Grant, Rachel Helten, and Amanda Damaren.

       

      LITERARY EVENTS

      Turning Point Ensemble and Nu:BC Collective present the premieres of new works by San Francisco-based composer Aaron Gervais and Vancouver’s John Oliver. Held at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts.

      MOVIES

      Social-action documentary Healing Voices, which explores the experience commonly labeled as psychosis, is shown at the Vancouver Public Library Central Branch.

      The Vancouver Public Library Renfrew Branch hosts a screening of the animated family film Penguins of Madagascar.

      The Vancouver Public Library Mount Pleasant Branch screens The 33, which tells the story of a group of Chilean miners who are trapped underground.

      The Hive Vancouver screens Avi Lewis's documentary This Changes Everything.
