Soundgarden summons the sun at suddenly perfect Pemberton

Soundgarden just brought out the sun for the first time today up at Pemberton.

"Blue sky," chanted frontman Chris Cornell. "Blue sky, blue sky!"

And the clouds parted before him. Not that the weather has been bad. But while earlier in the day the festival gods looked to be threatening rain, we're now enjoying some beautiful evening sunshine.

      Thank you Chris.

Always the professional, the singer and rhythm guitarist for the seminal grunge band apologized for a couple of lyrical slips, noting that he and the boys were playing under somewhat challenging circumstances.

"I forgot to sing the chorus there because there's so much fucking B.C. weed smoke here," Cornell explained. We're even outside and I need a respirator."

      He didn't seem too bothered.

"I'm trying to think of something that goes with this smell of dope," Cornell said a couple of songs later.

The Seattle icons then launched into fan favourite "Black Hole Sun," which had fans singing along throughout.

"It is perfect up here," Cornell said later in Soundgarden's Main Stage set. "Don't let anybody come up here and
fuck it up. This place is perfect just the way it is."

Beautiful day and perfect timing for Black Hole Sun, it almost seemed like they waited their whole career to play that song, at that time, in this place - pure poetry!
