Vietnamese teacher talks about the seven types of Vancouver girls

What? Only seven types?

Here's local YouTube comedian Linda Dong's sendup of local stereotypes of Vancouver girls according to neighbourhoods.

Unfortunately she forgot Shaughnessy Girl, Robson Girl, Wreck Beach Girl, West End Girls (the girl group), Visiting ESL Student Girl, Taiko Girl, Smelly Hair SkyTrain Girl, and the suburbs: West Vancouver Girl (well, Real Housewives of Vancouver ostensibly covered that), North Shore Adventure Girl, Richmond Girl, and...(I'm Not a) Surrey Girl.

Maybe more material for future episodes?

(Then again, maybe the next one can be types of Vancouver guys?)

It's mildly amusing but how accurate do you think it is?

It's super funny because all Vancouver ladies are high maintenance, have long hair with waves, and do nothing but shop and eat. Sterotyping women is so funny. Thanks for providing a shopping list of women to these men in your video. Super original concept by the way!!!

Not.

Oh great! My day's been lacking in reductionist sexist stereotypes! Remember kids, if you don't employ reductive stereotypes against women often enough, someone may someday take them seriously, and we can't have that, now can we? Yet, if we do it often enough, they even take on doing it to themselves!
I'm just trying to figure out why the Straight decided it needed a few thousand more hits. Pretty sure you can do better.

Oh clam the fuck down Erika. This is hilarious. I checked out her YouTube Channel. She's making great Vancouver comedy from a young woman's point of view. I love it.

@ Erika,

You're right, there are women who aren't high maintenance and don't just shop and eat, but these are the golden women, the few, the needles in the proverbial haystack. There are too few of these women to go around, so most men are stuck with gold-diggers.

Women with a brain e.g. "bookstore girl," are extremely hard to find in Vancouver (or anywhere for that matter)

All in good fun and absolutely necessary. We take ourselves far too seriously sometimes. One thing for sure, Vancouver has beautiful women. The only flaw in the video was that the Main St Girl needs a beard.

"Let's do a send up of Vietnamese girl types next."

Hello? Saigon (renamed Ho Chi Minh City in 1976) is the largest city in Vietnam, so that was already covered.

"The only flaw in the video was that the Main St Girl needs a beard."

Main st boys maybe, but Main st girls are certainly not middle earth dwarves.

The biggest flaw I saw, was the map. Commercial dr is east of Main st (and north of little saigon), not west of Main. Punjabi market (little India would be more politically correct), is also on Main (not west of it) and on Fraser st (east of Main).
