If you're a transgender person who has wanted to be on screen and be a part of history, here's an opportunity that will satisfy both of those wishes.

The LGBT rights series When We Rise is being shot in Vancouver. It chronicles the development of the rights movement in San Francisco in the 1970s.

It's being written by Dustin Lance Black, who won an Oscar for his screenplay for the biopic Milk about gay activist Harvey Milk, and director Gus Van Sant, who also directed Milk.

The cast includes Australian actor Guy Pearce (The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert; The King's Speech) and Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds, Angels in America), in addition to roles played by Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O'Donnell, David Hyde Pearce, and more.

Transgender extras are needed for scenes being shot next week.
