Canada Line fully open after Richmond shutdown this morning

Perhaps the Canada Line was feeling left out.

After the Expo and Millennium lines experienced two major shutdowns in one week, the Canada Line had its own outage this morning (July 24).

Metro Vancouver's third SkyTrain line lost power south of Marine Drive Station, shutting down its Richmond and airport branches.

TransLink later announced that power had been restored. (No electrician has been thrown "under the train", at time of writing.)

And just because the Expo and Millennium lines couldn't let the day go by without a glitch, their ticket machines decided to go cash only for a bit.

Fortunately, that problem got solved too.

      Oh, TransLink.

Kudos to GS on it's excellent reporting of the ongoing Translink fiasco.

Hope it inspires more digging. There's gold waiting to be found for the diligent journalist.

"Perhaps the Canada Line was feeling left out."

Interestingly enough, if you count that construction mishap (flipped truck carrying a guideway segment) that happened to the Evergreen Line last week, you can pretty much say all rapid transit lines in Metro Vancouver had been jinxed this month...
