Slayer to play the heaviest metal show the Fraser Valley has ever seen

Legendary thrash-metal act Slayer has just announced that it will play Abbotsford Centre on October 20.

Don't ask me why they aren't playing Vancouver.

Are we not heavy enough for them?

There seems to be a bit of a trend in American metal bands avoiding Vancity. Megadeth just played a gig in Penticton a while back, when I would have loved to see them play here.

WTF?

Anyway, Abbotsford's not that far if you're a diehard metalhead. And the fact that Anthrax is also on the bill--along with Death Angel--is another enticement.

Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday at 10 am at Ticketmaster, but you can get them earlier through the Georgia Straight prebuy, which runs from May 11 at 10 am to May 12 at 10 pm. The password is REPENT.
