CBC Radio One's Definitely Not the Opera is ending its 22-year run with a finale on Saturday (May 14).

The storytelling show is hosted by Sook-Yin Lee, who hails from Vancouver and joined the show in 2002.

"I feel proud of what we've done and [am] indebted to my team, our listeners, guests and all the strangers I've met on street corners—who opened the deepest parts of their lives and shared them with us," Lee said in a statement. "That profound generosity is what humbles me and it is what I'm grateful for."

DNTO began in 1994 as a pop culture–oriented show aimed at targeting a younger audience. Its name was a play on the CBC radio show Saturday Afternoon at the Opera.

Lee, who is also a musician, filmmaker, and actor and is a former MuchMusic VJ, will begin a new CBC project while the DNTO producers will work on developing a new program.

The final episode will feature a retrospective of the program's highlights over the years.
