Carlos Santana freak finds a 36-year-old reason to cheer for the Blues

The Stanley Cup playoffs are always more fun when there’s somebody to cheer for, but since no Canadian teams made the cut this year, it’s been kind of a drag.

I mean, who were us hosers supposed to root for? The stinkin’ Kings? Not a hope in hell, eh.

Since my fave American team, the mighty Blackhawks, got knocked out, I’ve been wondering which one to raise my Pilsner to, and today I finally decided–just in time for the conference finals.

It’s gonna be St. Louis, for the sole reason that Carlos Santana looked so fine rocking that Blues jersey on the inside cover of his jazzy 1980 double-album, The Swing of Delight.

Didn’t sound too bad, either, especially around the 4 1/2-minute mark of my fave tune from that album, “Song For My Brother”.

      Stand on it Carlos!

      And go Blues!
