Gary Moore's fierce guitar talent to be showcased on upcoming Eagle Records live CD

The rock-guitar world lost one of its most amazing artists in February of 2011 when Gary Moore passed away while on holiday in Spain, but now comes word that a concert recording of Moore from 2007 will be released this fall.

Eagle Rock Entertainment–the company that’s given us such primo Moore discs as the Blues for Jimi Blu-ray and the five-disc Live at Montreux package–announced today that Live at Bush Hall 2007 will hit stores on September 23.

Originally broadcast by Planet Rock radio, the album features a number of songs from Moore’s then-new Close As You Get album, including four originals and covers of Son House’s “Sundown”, Sonny Boy Williamson’s “Eyesight to the Blind”, and Chuck Berry’s “Thirty Days”.

The 13-track CD also includes the title track of Moore’s breakthrough 1990 blues-rock release, Still Got the Blues–which saw him in the company of his major influences Albert King and Albert Collins–and the fiery Thin Lizzy classic “Don’t Believe a Word”.

Moore’s band at the time included his former Thin Lizzy bandmate Brian Downey on drums, along with bassist Pete Rees and keyboardist Vic Martin.

Also, here’s hoping the bozos down at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame get a copy of the upcoming Moore CD, so they’ll finally come to realize he deserves immediate induction along with the shockingly overlooked likes of Link Wray, Rory Gallagher, and the recently deceased Johnny Winter.
