Who Did Your Ink? is the Straight’s weekly feature, where we ask badass Vancouverites about the talented artists, indelible stories, and, at times, questionable antics behind their most treasured tattoos.

      Whats your name? Teresa Johnson.

What do you do? I own Electro-LadyLux Tattoos (876 Commercial Drive). I've owned and operated my own business as a tattoo artist for 20-plus years!

Who did your ink? I've had many great artists over the years, such as Paul Jeffries, John the Dutchman, Bill Baker, Eddy Deutsch, Matt Houston, as well as many others, including people who have previously worked for me.

Why did you choose these artists to do your tattoos? Most of the artists I've chosen over the years were for their awesome talent!

Is there any meaning behind them? For me, being tattooed in itself is an expression of choice. As a woman, I feel this expression is especially important and profound. The images, however carefully chosen, are not as important as the process of being tattooed and having tattoos.

Who’s your favourite local tattoo artist? There are so many fantastic, skilled, and amazing artists these days—I can't pick one! However, my next tattoos will be done by Darci Love and Geoff Funk.

What’s next on your ink list? Hmmm... Always more tattoos!
