Marijuana activist Marc Emery is free and back on Canadian soil

Marc Emery has crossed the border and returned to Canada.

After five years incarcerated in the United States for selling marijuana seeds, the Vancouver-based Prince of Pot is a free man.

Shortly after 1 p.m. PST, Jodie Emery published a photograph of her husband walking on Canadian soil (above).

The Emerys are in Windsor, Ontario, today (August 12), where Marc entered Canada after he was released from the custody of U.S. immigration.

He immediately used waiting microphones to resume his work as a political activist.

“Canadian politicians are the most gutless group of people I have ever seen,” Marc said at a press conference. “They don’t want to bring up marijuana. They are afraid of it. After 45 years, really, they’re still afraid of it? Is this what we’ve got?...We are going to have to reclaim our democracy and get marijuana legalized next election.”

Look if these activists want to decriminalize marijuana they really do need to go through an image change. This picture speaks volumes, it is full of people that look like they honestly have nothing going for them in life. It's a perception issue, I know many people who consume marijuana recreationally who are highly successful individuals and would never be caught dead in a photo op with idiots like this. The Cannibus flag again dumb. I think and hope Mark is smart enough to realize that he needs to keep some space between himself and Jodie to give her half a chance in hell of winning an election if she indeed gets the liberal nomination.

Tommy, live and let live, no one invited you to the party.

The media come to pot events, get their "stoner" shots, and leave. It's lazy journalism and nothing that we can control.

Let me ask you something Tommy. Would you show up to a NASCAR race wearing a bathing suit, goggles, and a snorkel? I'm betting not. So by assuming that these people have nothing going for them, based solely on a photograph of them dressed appropriately for the occasion, well that speaks volumes about your scope (or lack of) on the matter to begin with. Just my opinion.
