Bill Durst and his beard play the Railway Club tonight

Bill Durst was a member of the 1970s London, Ontario rock outfit Thundermug (remember "Africa"?), and in recent years he has made a pretty solid career for himself as a guitar-slinging blues-rocker. At some point in between, Durst was also a member of a ZZ Top tribute act called Tres Hombres. That explains the man's beard, which is epic. Really, Durst's whiskers put all these young beard-cultivating hipsters to shame.

And he can probably play guitar better than any of them, too:

Bill Durst plays the Railway Club tonight (August 21). If you miss him there and you happen to be heading over to Vancouver Island, you might be able to catch him in Parksville, Cumberland, Duncan, Tofino, Victoria, or Port Alberni. The man gets around! But apparently playing in Nanaimo is beneath his dignity. And who can blame him?
