15 Vancouver concerts this weekend, June 17 to 19

FRIDAY: Ruby & Smith, Ruby's Ukulele Orchestra, and Ralph Shaw perform at the Rio Theatre's Strumming for Stroke benefit for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

FRIDAY: American horn-infused rock band Chicago ("Make Me Smile", "Saturday in the Park") plays the second of two nights at the River Rock Show Theatre.

FRIDAY: outdoor electronica festival at the Scandinavian Community Centre features performances by H!j!nx, Rich Haughton, Volodicus, Starbuck, Fiksupoika, and Phonofile.

FRIDAY: Festival African Heritage Music and Dance Society presents African reggae artists Alpha Blondy & the Solar System at the Vogue, with guests Camaro 67, Mr. Fantastik, and Ketch Di Vybz Dancers.

FRIDAY: Los Angeles rock 'n' roll musician Richard Duguay plays the WISE Hall, with guests the Judys, Wasted strays, and R.d. Cane.

FRIDAY: the Reverberation Appreciation Society and Timbre Concerts present the second night of Levitation Vancouver, featuring concerts in downtown Vancouver at the Commodore, the Rickshaw Theatre, the Imperial, and the Cobalt.

FRIDAY: Elvis tribute artist Eli Williams and the Memphis Sound recreate Presley's 1968 comeback concert at Port Moody's Inlet Theatre.

FRIDAY: African and Latin dance music spun by DJs Marc Fournier and Eric Lenger at the Backstage Lounge.

SATURDAY: Melo Productions presents the Tropical Boat Cruise Glow Party on board MV Britannia, featuring music by Daddy Mikey, DJ Kemo, Redemption Sound, and DJ Rexx.

SATURDAY: English pop-rock singer-songwriter Lloyd Cole plays the Rio Theatre.
