15 Vancouver concerts this week, June 20 to 24

MONDAY: Detroit R&B singer-songwriter JMSN plays Alexander Gastown, touring in support of latest album It Is.

TUESDAY: Canadian electronica musician Jessy Lanza plays Alexander Gastown, with guest DJ Taye.

WEDNESDAY: as part of the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival, free concert at Prohibition by by Jack Garton.

THURSDAY: New Zealand-based comedy band Flight of the Conchords, composed of Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement (above), plays the Orpheum Theatre.

THURSDAY: American rapper BAS plays Alexander Gastown, with guests the Hics, Ron Gilmore, Cozz, and Earthgang.

THURSDAY: Jamaican reggae-R&B group Toots and the Maytals, featuring vocalist Toots Hibbert, plays the Commodore.

THURSDAY: as part of the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival, free concert at Prohibition by Jaclyn Guillou.

FRIDAY: opening night of the 31st annual TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival, which runs until July 3, featuring top performers from Vancouver and around the world. 

FRIDAY: New Zealand funk-Afrobeat band the Black Seeds plays the Rickshaw, with guests Los Furios and DJ Dubconscious.

FRIDAY: dance to the music of Cuban band Brisas del Palmar, with guest vocalist Jafelin, at St. James Hall.

FRIDAY:: Japanese jazz pianist-composer Uehara Hiromi performs with her trio at the Vogue as part of the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival.
