      West Coast Jazz Invitational 2016 features music by the Vancouver Groove Orchestra, Rich Wetzel, Chad Makela, the Mighty Fraser Big Band, David Hodgson, the Other Big Band, Deep Cove Big Band, Inlet Jazz Band, Bruce James Orchestra, New Westminster & District Jazz Band, South Van Big Band, and the Jazz Connexion.       Highlights of the Queensborough Children's Festival include entertainment, crafting, interactive displays, food, and appearances by Music With Marnie and Shon Burnett. Held at Queensborough Community Centre.

      Family Day at Western Front features activities for youth and families, including presentations, performances, and screenings. Held at Western Front.

      Local artist Vazzy presents a kid-friendly concert as part of the 27th Festival d’été francophone de Vancouver. Held at Studio 16.

       

      SPORTS

      Professional wrestling collides with burlesque in a sexy, action-packed mashup featuring former TNA heavyweight champion Eric Young. Held at the WISE Hall.

       

      COMEDY

      American comedian, actor, and author Carol Burnett shares clips and moments from her illustrious career and takes questions from the audience. Held at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

      Jacob Samuel hosts an evening that explores the follies of youth with Kate Belton, Chris Griffin, Joey Commisso, Gavin Matts, and Victoria Banner. Held at the Hot Art Wet City Gallery.

      A standup-comedy show features Cliff Prang, Ed Hill, Vanessa Woznow, Joey Commisso, and Damian Johnson. Held at the British Ex-Servicemen's Association.

       

      ARTS ET CETERA

      Wander up and down South Granville Street and take in artist talks, wine and cheese tastings, and more than 16 different art exhibitions as part of ArtWalk South Granville. Held at Gallery Row South Granville.

      Artist Brigitte Potter-Mael discusses what inspired her to create the art in From Meadows Woodlands Far and Near. Held at the Beaty Biodiversity Museum.

       

      DANCE

      Karen Flamenco presents a season-ending performance of classic Brothers Grimm fairytale Snow White. Held at the Vancouver Playhouse.

      LITERARY EVENTS
