If you've never seen AC/DC play in a bar, Airbourne's coming to the Commodore

I've never seen AC/DC play in a bar. I did get to see Angel City play a hall near Melbourne back in '86, though, and that was pretty cool.

Unless you're an Aussie you've most likely never seen AC/DC play in a bar, because by the time they got over to North America they were too big to play your local watering hole--they were too busy blowing acts like Aerosmith off the stage at legendary arena gigs.

But if you want to get a feel for what AC/DC would have been like in a bar, you might want to check out Australian boogie-metal band Airbourne when it plays the Commodore on September 17.

The quartet from Warrnambool will be performing tunes from its upcoming fourth album, Breakin' Outta Hell, which was engineered and mixed by Langley's own Mike Fraser, who's been tweaking the sound of AC/DC for years now.

Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday at Live Nation.

Oh yeah--Airbourne's Vancouver show takes place on a Saturday night, in case you really want the full ears-ringin', head-achin' AC/DC experience come Sunday morning.
