The Real Housewives of Toronto to trash Canada's biggest city

They're back. But in another Canadian city.

Corus Entertainment announced earlier this month that they're bringing back the notorious Real Housewives franchise to Canada.

While The Real Housewives of Vancouver launched in 2012 and ran for only two overheated, hyper-dramatic seasons before being cancelled in 2013, Corus is taking on Hogtown with The Real Housewives of Toronto.

The new series will feature six Toronto housewives (Vancouver started with five in Season 1, and replaced two housewives in Season 2 and expanded to a total of six).

      Here's how Corus puts it:

Real Housewives of Toronto promises franchise fans an intimate look at the luxurious lives of the city’s wealthiest women from their extravagant day-to-day escapades in Toronto to grandiose getaways to their exclusive colossal cottages in Muskoka—Canada’s playground for the rich and famous. But not all that glitters is gold as these women reveal details about their relationships, family drama, including the highs and lows of living large in the big city.

And "relationships, family drama, including highs and lows of living large" is a euphemism for arguments, fights, manipulated tensions, and backstabbing that are the backbone of all reality TV.

The series will be broadcast on Slice in the 2017 winter season.

Will any of the Real Housewives of Vancouver make cameos in Toronto? Will Jody Claman show up just to slap a lawsuit on someone? You can be sure you'll hear about it, whether you want to or not.

After all, if there's one thing that unites Canada, it's trashy reality TV.
