From August 2 to 12, Early Music Vancouver's Vancouver Bach Festival hits Christ Church Cathedral (690 Burrard) and the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts (6265 Crescent Road, UBC).

Presented for the first time, the festival will allow audiences to experience some of J.S. Bach's most famous works, played on period instruments by internationally known musicians.

Highlights include jazz pianist Dan Tepfner performing Goldberg Variations, organist and harpsichordist Christina Hutten performing Schübler Chorales, and harpsichordist Davitt Moroney performing The Art of the Fugue.

This year's headlining event is Bach's Mass in B Minor, in which Alexander Weimann conducts eight internationally renowned Bach soloists and Montreal's Arion Baroque Orchestra.

Tickets for Early Music Vancouver's Vancouver Bach Festival range from $10 to $67, and are available online or by calling 604-822-2697.
