MONDAY: local musicians Willa, Dan Moxom of Bend Sinister, the Ruffled Feathers, and Colour the Wild perform at Woodward's Atrium for Key to the Streets.

TUESDAY: New York based indie-rocker Mitski plays the Cobalt, with guests Japanese Breakfast and Jay Som.

WEDNESDAY: Arizona metalcore band Blessthefall plays the Rickshaw Theatre, with guests Like Moths to Flames, Get Scared, and Picturesque.

WEDNESDAY: jazz-folk vocalist Cari Burdett plays St. Mark's Anglican Church, with guests Adrian Dolan and Richard Moody.

THURSDAY: the first day of the Pemberton Music Festival features performances by Snoop Dogg, Bassnectar, Wolf Parade, Grace Potter, Rae Sremmurd, and Maria Bamford.

THURSDAY: the Canadian Pacific Blues Society presents American roots-rock greats Dave & Phil Alvin at the Imperial, with guests Paul Pigat & Cousin Harley.

THURSDAY: local bands the Plodes, Dumb, shitlord fuckerman, and Tim the Mute pay tribute to XTC, Devo, and Joy Division at the Rickshaw.

THURSDAY: local Celtic-folk band the Paperboys performs as part of the Enchanted Evenings Concert Series at Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden.

THURSDAY: American R&B-pop singer-songwriter Meghan Trainor plays the PNE Amphitheatre, with guests Hailee Steinfeld and Common Kings.

THURSDAY: live Music at Roedde House by Eli Davidovici, Leo Bae, Tristan Paxton, and Mili Hong.

FRIDAY: Vancouver-based dream-pop artist Youngblood celebrates the launch of her new EP at the Rickshaw Theatre.

FRIDAY: Detroit hip-hop duo Insane Clown Posse plays Venue, with guests Spread the Revenge.

FRIDAY: Montreal metal band Beyond Creation plays the Media Club, with guests Rivers of Nihil, the Zenith Passage, and VACUUS and Exterminatus.

FRIDAY: the second day of the Pemberton Music Festival features performances by J. Cole, Kaskade, FKA Twigs, Flosstradamus, Method Man and Redman, Cold and War Kids.

FRIDAY: the 39th annual Vancouver Folk Music Festival kicks off at Jericho Beach. This year's lineup includes Martin Carthy, Shane Koyczan, the New Pornographers, Jojo Abot, Lisa O’Neill, Lakou Mizik, Ajinai, Yemen Blues, Bruce Cockburn, Oysterband, the Bills, Lord Huron, Little Scream, and Samantha Parton.
