Yesterday I was pleased to report that there's a new special-edition Blu-ray of Aliens coming out this fall, commemorating the sci-fi/horror classic's 30th anniversary.

Now today there's more good news for genre fans, as Scream Factory has announced that a collector's-edition Blu-Ray of Tom Holland's ace killer-doll flick Child's Play is set for release this fall as well.

The two-disc package, out October 18, features a a new 2K scan of the movie plus a recently-recorded audio commentary with director Holland. Other bonus features include interviews with the creators and cast members, various featurettes--including "Chucky: Building a Nightmare", with Chucky designer Kevin Yagher, and a 23-minute doc on '80s horror--the original theatrical trailer, and a still-photo gallery.

For hardcore Chuckyheads with lotsa spare cash there's also a "deluxe offer" available through the Scream Factory website that includes two slipcovers, two posters, and a limited edition “Good Guys Chucky” doll from NECA.

There's no guarantee the doll is possessed by the murderous weirdo spirit of Brad Dourif, however.

Oh yeah. In case you didn't know, Child's Play is a hoot to watch. Here's my original review from way the funk back in 1988.
