A special 3-D presentation of Cathedrals of Culture takes place at the Vancouver International Film Festival on September 30 at 5:45 p.m. at International Village (88 West Pender Street). A 2-D encore screening will be presented October 4 at 11 a.m. at the Centre for Performing Arts (777 Homer Street).

Cathedrals of Culture features six stunning buildings and six auteurs in an inspired ode to the art of architecture. The Berliner Philharmonie concert hall (Wim Wenders), California’s Salk Institute (Robert Redford), the National Library in St. Petersburg (the late Michael Glawogger), Denmark’s Halden prison (Michael Madsen, Into Eternity), the Oslo Opera House (Margreth Olin, The Angel), and the Centre Pompidou in Paris (Karim Ainouz, Madame Satã) are brought to life as never before.

Inspired by the question, “If buildings could talk, what would they say about us?”, Cathedrals of Culture offers six different but equally fascinating responses.

Tickets to both screenings can be purchased online in advance.
