The Edmonton Oilers outshot the Vancouver Canucks 29 to 18 at Rogers Arena last night, but the home team still came out on top with a 3-2 victory, thanks in part to new goaltender Ryan Miller.

Chris Higgins, Daniel Sedin, and Radim Vrbata found the net for the Canucks, who open their regular season on Wednesday (October 8) against the Calgary Flames.

The Oilers' Nail Yakupov and Will Acton scored for the visitors.

The Canucks ended the preseason with five wins and two defeats under new coach Willie Dejsardins.

Meanwhile, sportswriters at the Province newspaper have named Henrik Sedin as the greatest Canuck in history, followed by Pavel Bure, Trevor Linden, Daniel Sedin, and Markus Naslund.

When I scanned the list, I couldn't understand why Harold Snepsts only ranked 24th. He may have elicited the loudest cheers of anyone who ever put on a Canucks uniform.
