From August 17 to 20, the Vines Art Festival 2016 hits various Vancouver parks.

While events take place at Maclean Park, Norquay Park, Trout Lake Park, Pandora Park, and Hadden Park, the festival's main event at Trout Lake Park will feature over 25 diverse performances, interactive art, and workshops alongside a farmers market.

Arts fans can take in shows by choreographers Emmalena Fredriksson and Arash Khakpour, theatre-makers Theatre on Earth, Environmental Youth Alliance, and Ariel-Martz-Oberlander, musicians Son Bohemio and Alex Ma, and interdisciplinary artists Cease Wyss and Bronwyn Preece.

Educator and author Lori Wiedenhammer and First Nations herbalist and urban-foraging expert Lori Snyder will be running workshops. Other activities include activist-artist collaboration the Grass-Roots Project and a teaser showcase of work by the Only Animal Theatre Company.

All activities at the Vines Art Festival 2016 are free of charge. More information can be found on the event's website and Facebook page.
