In what is becoming a game of musical chairs, the CBC Radio show q will switch hosts once again.

Rapper Shad, whose full name is Shadrach Kabango, hosted his last show today (August 16).

The show, which covers music, the arts, and current affairs, experienced a ratings drop after former host Jian Ghomeshi was dismissed in October 2014 and was replaced with Shad in March 2015. The show also changed its logo from the uppercase Q to the lowercase q.

Shad, who lived in Vancouver for several years and has a master's degree from SFU, will be replaced with 29-year-old Tom Power, a presenter of CBC's Radio 2 Morning.

Power, originally from St. John's, Newfoundland, was formerly the host of the music show Deep Roots and is a part of a music segment on CBC TV's Our Centres program. He is also a vocalist and guitarist for the band The Dardanelles.

Power, who has served as a guest host on q, will officially take over as host in October.

Ghomeshi's departure was followed with him being charged with choking and sexual assault in November 2014. He was acquitted of all charges at one trial involving three complainants and another case was dropped after he signed a peace bond and publicly apologized.
