Jian Ghomeshi losing thousands of Facebook likes a day (watch it in real time)

I've seen several people tweet a link to this page showing support declining for Jian Ghomeshi on Facebook in real time.

At time of writing, statistics from the web-based tool Quintly indicated that the dumped CBC host was losing Facebook likes at a rate of over 350 an hour, or around 9,000 likes per day.

While news of Ghomeshi's canning did lead to an outpouring of support for him on social media, subsequent reports detailing the alleged abuse of four women, then eight of them, presumably changed some minds.

Not everyone is unliking Ghomeshi on Facebook though. At last viewing, he retained 99,371 likes, and Quintly showed that some people were still hitting the "like" button on his page.

If it was one woman he did it too, she could be lying...

But multiple women now? Really shady character this guy is. Still a chance they all could be lying, but i highly doubt it.

      Why?

Why would we want to watch someone become unpopular on FB live? Are you like fucking 12 years old or something?

It's called schadenfreude. Pretty basic human emotion

      @Why?

even 12 year-olds know about schadenfreude.

      Why Not?

You *do* realize that thousands of people earn their living monitoring web statistics on a second-to-second basis right? 12 year olds run the world, dumbass.

      I admit it

I was one of those people that "liked" his page on the first page. Perhaps being into bdsm myself (although a woman) I felt outrage that someone could be fired for their personal preferences. Of course as I listened to wiser people and their measured opinions, I realized that I had been duped. I feel like an idiot. So yes, I "unliked" his page. And now I need to go make a donation to a women's shelter - I seriously feel sick that I fell for his bullshit, and sorry for the public scrutiny that abused women have to endure.

      Who cares?

This article is one of the strangest of our times. FB likes? Who cares about FB likes these days?

      No surprise

I don't even work in radio and I've been hearing stories about his misogyny for years.

Does anyone who works or did work at the CBC like Jian?

      Wolf!

Funny how people are so quick to believe these allegations.
