Skills ‘n Spills, the B.C. Hospitality Foundation Industry Games, takes place this Sunday (November 9) at Vancouver's Hellenic Community Centre (4500 Arbutus Street).

The event, now in its second year, is a fun opportunity for hospitality industry personnel to take the day off work, dress up in costumes, and get together for a Sunday-Funday, all while raising funds and awareness for a charity that supports industry workers facing a financial crisis due to a medical condition.

More than 15 teams will compete in a series of obstacle courses and challenges, culminating in the final event, the Hospitality Grind relay race for a chance to prove they are the best. Games include the Crack Off Egg Challenge, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, the Perfect Pour, Trolley Park in the Dark, Beer Pong, and the Giant Apron Dash.

Confirmed participants include teams from Tap & Barrel, Mill Marine Bistro, Black and Blue, Coast Restaurant, Italian Kitchen, Yaletown Brewing Company, Fairmont Vancouver Airport, Fairmont Pacific Rim, Red Truck Brewing, Vancouver Convention Centre, the Fish House at Stanley Park, Earl's Kitchen + Bar, the Pan Pacific Vancouver, Doolin's Irish Pub, and the Belmont Room.

The general public is invited to attend to cheer on its favourite team—admission is a suggested minimum donation of $5 per person. Team registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the games take place from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
