The 30th annual Cherie Smith JCCGV Jewish Book Festival takes place at the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver (950 West 41st Avenue) from November 22 to 27.

The festival features an exciting roster of writers from across Canada, the U.S., and Israel and includes readings, meet-the-author opportunities, panel discussions, book club event, writing and self-publishing workshops, film screenings, a foodie event, and two onsite bookstores.

This year’s featured authors include Zeruya Shalev with her newly translated novel, The Remains of Love; Steven Galloway with his new release, The Confabulist; CBC Radio host Dr. Brian Goldman with his book, The Secret Language of Doctors: Cracking the Code of Hospital Slang; and appearances from local talents Bob Bossin and Mark Leiren-Young.

“The Jewish Book Festival is a wide-reaching and inclusive event that reaches out to readers from all cultures and religions,” Nicole Nozick, who is festival director, stated in a news release. “Jewish writers don’t write only about Jewish subjects – their themes are universal: family relationships, love, humor, history. There is something for everyone with our diverse and entertaining selection of celebrated authors and panelists.”

Details and tickets to the festival and events can be found at the Cherie Smith JCCGV Jewish Book Festival website.
