Christiane Kubrick introduces Eyes Wide Shut

It's been 15 years since Eyes Wide Shut arrived in theatres and made everyone go, "What? Eyes Wide SHIT, more like, hur hur hur..."

Nothing much has changed since then, although personally, I've spent the intervening years constructing a very elaborate theory about the real meaning behind Stanley Kubrick's swan song (it's about the Anglo-Prussian Alliance during the Seven Years War, obviously). I intend to publish my findings either as a series of books with Random House or a YouTube video.

Either way, here's Christiane Kubrick offering her own interpretation of the strangely strange Tom Cruise vehicle. No mention of the Seven Years War, but Ms. Kubrick is absolutely lovely when she speaks briefly but very eloquently about her late husband.

Christiane Kubrick and her brother Jan Harlan—Stanley Kubrick's executive producer for 20 years—were at the TIFF Bell Lighbox in Toronto to present Eyes Wide Shut during the film centre's recent Kubrick Exhibit.

What a shame you were among those who actually pay attention and enjoy the movie. It had so much depth and they made a good point that you really need to see the movie twice to really appreciate it. So many little details that were easy to miss if you were busy talking or texting. Well done Stanley......

      My favorite film, ever.
