Chomp Vegan Eatery moves in with Fairy Cakes in Vancouver
When Chomp Vegan Eatery set up shop in Port Moody back in 2011, it was the Tri-Cities’ only fully vegan and gluten-free restaurant. Three years later, the Tri-Cities’ loss is Vancouver's gain.
Chomp has moved in with Fairy Cakes (3586 Fraser Street), a vegan cupcake shop, in East Vancouver. Its menu is also nut-free.
Mains include pizza, which is covered with Daiya mozzarella and cheddar cheese with a choice of two toppings, and lettuce wraps filled with red cabbage, carrots, yellow bell pepper, garbanzo beans, and hemp hearts with a sunflower ginger spread. One of the salads is called Kale Galore.
Customers can dine in or take out. Chomp also does catering.
Chomp closed its doors in Port Moody in October, and opened up with Fairy Cakes earlier this month.
Owner Vanessa Mills plans to hold Chomp's grand opening on November 29 and 30. There'll be prizes, samples, and live music.
The eatery's business hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day except Tuesdays.
