A week after some U.S. Metro commuter papers cut editorial staff, there are a series of "staff and organizational changes" taking place within its Canadian division.

J-Source.ca has obtained a Star Media Group memo to staff announcing the shuttering of all digital-only outlets in seven Canadian cities: Victoria, Saskatoon, Regina, Kitchener, Hamilton, London, and Windsor. This will result in three people losing their jobs.

It comes four months after print editions were closed in Regina, Saskatoon, and London.

Meanwhile, Metro is cutting another six jobs in editorial, production, marketing, and  digital operations.

According to the memo, the editorial department is moving to One Yonge Street in Toronto.

For all intents and purposes Metro and any other rags have been shut down long ago, printing only ads, propaganda and a few puff pieces.

Best place to get the real facts in B.C. and probably all of Canada are the true journalists, good local political bloggers.

Search 'em out and hear the real facts.
