Carli Edwards resigns as deputy chief building official for City of Vancouver

      A long-time bureaucrat at Vancouver city hall has resigned following a reported breach of a city bylaw.

      Carli Edwards will leave her post on December 31. 

      Even though she resigned, she will head out with six months’ salary.

      The City of Vancouver announced the news in the following statement last night (December 10):

      The City of Vancouver has accepted the resignation of Carli Edwards, Deputy Chief Building Official, following the review of a complaint received related to a breach of the City Building Bylaw.

      Carli Edwards fully cooperated with the review and tendered her resignation effective December 31st. Ms. Edwards worked 17 years for the City of Vancouver and made many significant contributions. We have accepted her resignation; her duties have been reassigned and she will work with senior staff on transitioning key files. Under the terms of Ms. Carli Edwards departure she will receive a lump sum payment in the amount of six months’ salary.
