Comedian Bill Cosby has told reporter Stacy Brown that his wife of more than 50 years, Camille Cosby, is standing by him.

Cosby's comments, which appeared on pagesix.com, left that impression when asked how Camille is holding up in the wake of news stories full of damning allegations about him drugging and sexually assaulting women.

"Love and the strength of womanhood," Cosby replied. "Let me say it again, love and the strength of womanhood. And, you could reverse it, the strength of womanhood and love."

He also said that he only expects the black media "to uphold the standards of excellence in journalism".

"And when you do that you have to go in with a neutral mind," Cosby told Brown, who has written for several publications directed at African Americans.
