On October 1, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the public can take part in Water's Edge Day at Vanier Park and the Vancouver Maritime Museum (1905 Ogden).

Presented by the Georgia Strait Alliance, the third annual event celebrates the local shoreline with a wide range of activities along the Vancouver waterfront.

Participants can climb aboard a pirate ship, talk to the Coast Guards, touch sea critters, enjoy kids' entertainment, and paddle a canoe, kayak, and dragon boat.

As a bonus, you can explore the Vancouver Maritime Museum with a one-day free admission.

Activities are appropriate for all ages and are free of charge.

More information about Water's Edge Day can be found on the event's website and Facebook page.
