Polar Bear Swim draws big crowd to English Bay on New Year's Day

It's become a ritual for some and a New Year's novelty for others.
But this January 1, the crowd seemed a little larger at English Bay for the annual Polar Bear Swim.
Perhaps it was the weather.
Even though it was cold, the sun was shining and nobody seemed to be suffering from hypothermia.

My friend did the polar bear swim last year and he still can't find his nuts.
The cold was that shocking.

This was our first polar bear swim. We are all year round sea swimmers in Guernsey, UK and were delighted to celebrate new year in the sea while on holiday here in Vancouver. Puts our turns out to shame back at home for the polar bear Christmas swim!! Impressive!!!
