Photos: Hiking to Cypress Lake in Coquitlam

Lately, I’ve enjoyed exploring the hiking trails north of Coquitlam (see photos from Burke Summit and Sawblade Falls in Pinecone Burke Provincial Park).

My latest excursion was a six-hour, 12-kilometre circuit on Eagle Ridge. The destination was the ice-covered Cypress Lake, but we also hiked most of the way up the snowy trail to Cypress Mountain.

Our trailhead was the gate at Plateau Boulevard and Parkway Boulevard in Westwood Plateau. The lesser known trails in this area offer another way to access those on top of Eagle Ridge, which are usually reached from Buntzen Lake.
