Dance Allsorts presents Deanna Peters and Meredith Kalaman as part of its 2014-15 season. The performance takes place January 18 at 2 p.m. at the Roundhouse Arts and Recreation Centre (181 Roundhouse Mews), with a workshop with Peters to follow.

Peters’s most recent production, Cut Away, features Barbara Bourget, Kim Sato, Elissa Hanson, and Peters. The piece blends Butoh, hip-hop, and contemporary dance styles.

Kalaman’s Ruminate is a duet in collaboration with Arash Khakpour. The piece was inspired by videos of giraffes violently thrashing their necks in combat and expresses the desire to dominate another being by means of physical force.

Tickets to the performance (for guaranteed seating) are $5 to $15 and can be purchased online in advance.
