      From the heartfelt soul-pop of Sam Smith to the gruesome death-metal of Cannibal Corpse, Vancouver crams a shipload of concerts into the year's shortest month.

      Here's 50 options to get you filling out your calendar way ahead of time.

      FEBRUARY 1: the Rogue Folk Club presents Canadian roots band the Duhks at St. James Hall, performing tunes from latest studio album Beyond the Blue.

      FEBRUARY 2-3: avant-garde composer, vocalist, and violinist Iva Bittová fuses the Old World and the contemporary at the Fox Cabaret as part of the PuSh Festival.

      FEBRUARY 3: country artist Kip Moore ("Somethin' 'Bout a Truck", "Beer Money") plays the Commodore.

      FEBRUARY 4: the Georgia Straight presents British soul-pop vocalist Sam Smith at Rogers Arena. SOLD OUT.

      FEBRUARY 6: London dance-music artist and DJ Alex Metric performs at the Electric Owl.

      FEBRUARY 6: Maryland rapper Logic performs at the Vogue Theatre on his Under Pressure World Tour.

      FEBRUARY 6: American bluegrass band The Devil Makes Three plays the Commodore, with guest Joe Pug.

      FEBRUARY 6: Canadian guitar-rock legends the Tragically Hip perform their 1992 album Fully Completely in its entirety at Rogers Arena.

      FEBRUARY 6: local hard-rock band Hellchamber plays the Rickshaw Theatre, with guests Fire, La Chinga, and the Thick Of It.

      FEBRUARY 6: alt-roots Americana band Petunia & the Vipers plays the Imperial, with guests Miss Quincy and the Showdown.

      FEBRUARY 7: the Georgia Straight presents California stoner-metal band Sleep (above) at the Commodore, with guests Bell Witch.
