      CONCERTS

      The Youth Must Rock Fundraiser features performances by by S.V. and the Killer B's, Royal Oak, Bridgeworks, The Bird The Lion & the Meerkat, Tinman Revolution, and the Chocolate Rainbow of Death. Held at the Terry Fox Theatre.

      American singer, producer, and DJ Alvin Risk (pictured above) takes the stage at the Electric Owl with guest Kodak to Graph.

      The BlueShore Financial Centre for the Performing Arts hosts A Tribute To Brazil, an evening of music by "A" Band, NiteCap, and faculty guests Jared Burrows, Steve Maddock, Bill Coon, Ihor Kukurudza, Dave Robbins, Steve Kaldestad, Dennis Esson, and Kate Hammett-Vaughn.

      American string band Foghorn Stringband headlines at the St. James Hall.

      Vancouver-based rock band City Walls performs at the Imperial with guests David Newberry and Killing Vogue.


      BENEFITS

      The Double Space Fundraiser features a silent auction with works by UBC’s students and faculty. Held at CBC Studio 700.


      FOOD AND DRINK

      A wine tasting with a technology angle, held at City Crest, lets you rate your favourites on a giant touchscreen.

       

      SPORTS

      The Vancouver Canucks take on the Buffalo Sabres in National Hockey League action at Rogers Arena.

       

      ARTS ETC

      Performance Works hosts Hour of the Wolf, a black-and-white film screening with live soundtrack by Eye of Newt and Norwegian vocalist Sissel Vera Pettersen. Part of the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival.

      FUSE X PuSh features performances by by Tangible Interaction, Zee Zee Theatre, Emily Johnson, Hong Kong Exile, MACHiNENOiSY, and Sonic Elder at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Part of the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival.


      MUSIC

      Alexandre Tharaud plays music by Bach, Chopin, Rameau, and Ravel at the Vancouver Playhouse.


      LITERARY EVENTS

      At Seven Dining Lounge, Mashed Poetics sees local poets perform new work based on popular movie theme songs.


      MOVIES

      Scotiabank Theatre Vancouver hosts screenings of classic flicks like Pan's Labyrinth and The Rocketeer at the Great Digital Film Festival.
