      CONCERTS

      American rock band Bad Suns (pictured above) takes the stage at the Electric Owl in support of debut release Language & Perspective

      Los Angeles indie-rock quintet the Airborne Toxic Event performs at the Fairmont Pacific Rim in a charity concert benefiting the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation and A Better Life Foundation.

      The Biltmore Cabaret hosts No Kidner Morgan Expansion Benefit Show, featuring performances by D.O.A., the Ford Pier Vengeance Trio, and Aging Youth Gang.


      FORUMS

      Women Transforming Cities presents a discussion of how First Nations women and girls can actively participate in decisions that impact their lives. Held at the Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House.

      The Vancouver Public Library Central Branch hosts a panel of experts and individuals who will discuss and share stories about body image struggles, self-esteem, and eating disorders.

       

      BENEFITS

      A Night of Stars features performances by B.C.'s dance companies, singers, and musicians in support of the Backstage Youth Performers Society. Held at the Massey Theatre.

       

      SPORTS

      At the Pacific Coliseum, the Vancouver Giants host a Super Bowl party featuring family-friendly activities.

       

      KIDS' STUFF

      Surrey City Centre celebrates Family Literacy Day with children's entertainer Tony Prophet, ventriloquist Wendy Stuart, storyteller Silly Suzie, mascots Walter and Jazzy, face-painting, activities, and prizes.

       

      COMEDY

      The Rio Theatre hosts Portal 2: The (Unauthorized) Musical, a black comedy about science, family, and space.

       

      ARTS ETC

      Char Bagh features performances by DJ Mandeep Sethi, graffiti artist Nisha Sembi, and artist Rupi Kaur at Performance Works. Part of the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival.


      MUSIC

      Guitarist Jeffrey McFadden performs works by Bach, Berio, Barrios, and Jobim at Pyatt Hall.

      At the Orpheum Annex, the Erato Ensemble presents an evening of funny, naughty, party, and drinking songs.


      THEATRE

      The Media Club hosts Good Enough, a solo theatre show about one man's search for meaning.


      MOVIES

      The Carrall Street Gospel Mission hosts the premiere screening of Gord Stanfield's new thriller Sinisters.
