      CONCERTS

      West Virginia instrumental desert-rock band Karma to Burn takes the stage at the Rickshaw Theatre with guests Sierra, Mendozza, 88 Mile Trip, and Craters.

      The Georgia Straight presents British soul-pop vocalist Sam Smith (pictured above) at Rogers Arena.

       

      FORUMS

      The Vancouver Public Library Central Branch hosts a forum exploring how personalized medicine can help people manage their health.

       

      MUSIC

      UBC Concert Winds and GVYMA Symphonic Winds perform a concert of works by Vaughan Williams, Jutras, Grainger, Carroll, and Zdechlik. Held at the Old Auditorium.


      DANCE

      At the Scotiabank Dance Centre, MACHiNENOiSY performs a new work that features eight children and seven professional dancers. Presented as part of the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival.


      LITERARY EVENTS

      The Vancouver Public Library Central Branch hosts the Dewey Decibel Youth Poetry Slam. Open to all poetic styles.


      THEATRE

      This Stays in the Room tells a story of shame and forgiveness. Held at the Waterfront Theatre.

      In Motherload, four prominent Canadian theatre artists and mothers bare their personal stories about motherhood. Held at the Cultch.

      The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts hosts Suitcase in Point Theatre's The Keith Richards One Woman Show.
