From November 27 to December 1, the JCC Jewish Book Festival takes over various Vancouver venues.

The 32nd annual celebration of Jewish literature is set to showcase a roster of writers from across Canada, the U.S., and Israel.

Festival director Dana Camil Hewitt says that "Jewish writers are part of the diverse fabric surrounding us: every day, they challenge pre-conceptions about the meaning of our culture in the modern world and, with that, our festival expands its reach and becomes ever more inclusive."

Highlights include meet-the-author opportunities, readings and panel discussions, the annual book club event, a screenwriting workshop, wellness and food subjects,  interdisciplinary and multimedia events, and two onsite bookstores.

This year, book fans can take in appearances by Irvin Yalom, B.A. Shapiro, Robin Esrock, Daniel Kalla, Simon Choa-Johnston, Helen Kim, Noah Leavitt, Tom Wayman, Bob Bossin, Glenda Leznoff, Ella Zeltserman, Gary Barwin, Paul Goldberg, Judy Batalion, Noa Baum, and Michael Wex.
