The Straight gets to know some of the artists participating in this year’s upcoming Eastside Culture Crawl.

Who are you? Karen Parker, fine artist and trained illustrator.

Where is your studio?  215-1000 Parker Street.

How many years have you participated in the East Side Culture Crawl? I am new to the crawl, this is my second year. However, I have been an artist my entire life.

What’s your medium? Painting and digital illustration.

What are some new pieces we can find at your studio during this year’s Crawl? I have a fun and new retro-vintage series of women with their dogs—at the salon, walking a pug, or daydreaming with a French bulldog. I wanted to capture the 50s inspired-era of beautiful women and their best friends, spending time doing what they love, in a beautiful way.
