The Georgia Straight proudly sponsors Bah! Humbug!

From December 8-10 and 15-17, Bah! Humbug! takes the stage at SFU's Goldcorp Centre for the Arts (149 West Hastings).

The seventh annual event presents a retelling of Charles Dickens's classic holiday tale A Christmas Carol that's infused with local flavour and character.

Jim Byrnes reprises his role as a sushi-loving Ebenezer Scrooge, who owns a pawn shop on Hastings Street and times his employees' late arrivals to work on his iPhone.

The production, which features animated projections of the prints of Strathcona artist Richard Tetrault, also includes songs that range from Nine Inch Nails to Buffy Sainte Marie.

Tickets for Bah! Humbug! are $29 and $15 and can be bought online, by calling 778-782-9286, or by visiting the box office in person.

Ticket proceeds benefit the Heart of the City Festival.
