      From December 8 to 11, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet's Nutcracker comes to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre (650 Hamilton).

      Presented by Ballet BC, this production gives a Canadian twist to the beloved holiday classic that features music by Tchaikovsky.

      Nutcracker tells the story of a young girl who receives a nutcracker as a gift and goes on a series of magical adventures.

      Canadian touches include scenes like a snowy pond hockey game and a battle on Parliament Hill.
