A new eatery is raising the bar for Vancouver's sports-watching experiences by combining arena event-watching with the world of dining.

The Sportsbar Live! at Rogers Arena officially launched at 99 West Georgia Street on December 16.

The 14,000 square-foot eatery seats 524 people. The venue includes104 in-arena seats, which offer patrons dining service with full views of the ice.

It also boasts the city's longest bar, a centrepiece that runs the entire length of the NHL blue line.

The restaurant also has DJ Barron S providing the beats during breaks.

The VIP Player's Lounge area offers semi-private booths while the Trophy Room features leather booths with private TV screens. A private party room, available for group and corporate events, includes bar and service stations with premium in-arena seating.

The décor includes a display of 120 hockey sticks owned by Gretzky, Crosby, Ovechkin, and Linden, as well as 4K HD TV screens throughout the space.

The menu, overseen by executive chef Robert Bartley, offers takes on classic sports fan favourites, including everything from cheeseburgers and foot-long grilled cheese hot dogs to a trainer's salad (quinoa, kale, arugula, green apples, dried cherries, sweet potato, pumpkin seeds, and toasted almonds with a Champagne vinaigrette).

Keeping astride with Vancouver's cross-cultural influences, there are internationally inspired selections such as Mexican corn dogs, Sportsbar bao bun (with crispy duck confit and garlic hoisin), lettuce wraps, Thai coconut chicken curry, porchetta (with roasted root vegetables and potatoes), and teriyaki salmon (with ginger-fried broccolini, lemongrass sticky rice, and grilled scallions).

Of course, there are also chicken wings, with sauce options ranging from dry Cajun, hot and cheesy, or cranberry lime to Thai sweet chili or Maureen's Jamaican Jerk.

Over 35 beers are available on tap, in addition to a wine list and a cocktail menu.
